Rizling Rýnsky

Rizling Rýnsky is a late-harvest Riesling grown by Chowaniec & Krajčírovič in Svätý Jur, where winemaking has been documented since 1270: before the Netherlands existed as a nation. The vines sit on limestone soils, ripening slowly under a cool continental climate.

Taste
Peach blossom and linden flower on the nose, with a fine mineral thread carrying through to the finish. Precise rather than sweet, with orchard fruit and bright acidity. Serve lightly chilled, around 8–10°C, in a standard white glass.

Pair It With
Seafood, roast poultry and aged cheeses.

Why It's Different
Most Riesling on Dutch shelves comes from Germany, Alsace or Austria. This is the same grape grown on limestone soils in a wine-growing area documented since 1270, picked later than usual to trade some early acidity for depth and aromatic intensity, without tipping into a dessert wine.

Rizling Rýnsky is een late-oogst Riesling, verbouwd door Chowaniec & Krajčírovič in Svätý Jur, waar al sinds 1270 wijnbouw is gedocumenteerd: voordat Nederland als natie bestond. De wijnstokken staan op kalksteengrond en rijpen langzaam onder een koel continentaal klimaat.

Smaak
Perzikbloesem en lindebloesem op de neus, met een fijne minerale ondertoon die doorzet tot in de afdronk. Precies in plaats van zoet, met boomgaardfruit en heldere zuurgraad. Serveer licht gekoeld, rond 8–10°C, in een standaard wittewijnglas.
