Pesecká Leanka: Chowaniec & Krajčírovič

Pesecká Leanka is a white wine you will rarely come across in the Netherlands. The grape is simply the Slovak name for Fetească Regală, a variety first identified in 1920s Transylvania.

Style
Semi-sweet (polosladké, per the producer), with fresh acidity that keeps it from turning syrupy. A good match for spicy Thai, Indonesian and Surinamese dishes.

Why It's Different
You won't find Pesecká Leanka on many Dutch wine lists: under its Romanian name, Fetească Regală, it's a well-established grape in Romania, but it rarely travels this far west. That makes it one of the more interesting ways to actually taste what's distinct about Slovak wine.

Best consumed within 2–3 years of release. Small-batch, harvest-limited: when this vintage sells out, the next one looks different, because the estate doesn't chase volume.

Pesecká Leanka: Chowaniec & Krajčírovič

Pesecká Leanka is een witte wijn die u in Nederland zelden tegenkomt. De druif is simpelweg de Slowaakse naam voor Fetească Regală, een ras dat voor het eerst werd geïdentificeerd in de jaren twintig in Transsylvanië.

Stijl
Halfzoet (polosladké, volgens de producent), met een frisse zuurgraad die de wijn in balans houdt. Een goede keuze bij pittige Thaise, Indonesische en Surinaamse gerechten.

Waarom Deze Wijn Anders Is
U zult Pesecká Leanka op weinig Nederlandse wijnkaarten aantreffen: onder de Roemeense naam Fetească Regală is het een gevestigd ras in Roemenië, maar het komt zelden zo ver naar het westen. Dat maakt het een van de interessantere manieren om daadwerkelijk te proeven wat Slowaakse wijn onderscheidend maakt.

Goed Om Te Weten
Het beste te drinken binnen 2–3 jaar na het uitbrengen. Kleinschalig en oogstgebonden: wanneer deze jaargang is uitverkocht, ziet de volgende er anders uit, omdat het wijnhuis geen volume nastreeft.
